The B.G. visitor center was positioned to rest on the edge of the forrest and meadow, but also lies on the edge of two geological formations. The successional character of the site influenced the design, which acts as a physical representation of the often subtle transition between two natural elements. 

• Positioned on the boundary of the Piedmont Upland and Atlantic Coastal Plane, The building was conceived as a physical manifestation of the forces below.
