Concept of “power plant”/community center. The structure will be a bridge between the neighborhoods, and will include a Library, Community Classrooms, Workshops and other Community based programs, as well as a Hydroponic farm, Fish farm, Composting center and possibly, a co-generating energy plant. The roof will collect solar energy.

I like the ideas for small scale power plants at row home infill. Will every row home be infilled in this nature to the point that all the homes will be energy power plants or would this be a select few in strategic areas? Your community center is also a great concept. Where would you place this to get the maximum efficiency and direct access to to community? A diagrams form of this could really solidify your placement.

Neil, I was excited to see that you moved your concept from last week to a bigger scale and different application this week. Your ideas regarding converting solar power and utilizing it into a productive system is a smart and influential move on the site. I think your next step would be to identify where these systems are located on your site as well as showing the reasoning behind their placement.

I really appreciate these sketches in delving into the process of energy use and absorption and how you plan to integrate it into the system of the nieghborhood. I think a map or drawing of how this system operates at a larger scale could help clarify how this system works in context and what the larger aspirations of this power plant are.
