The 40th Street corridor is the main connection between North and South. At one time, this street was a major artery that connected the neighborhood to Fairmount Park and held many neighborhood businesses.
Today this corridor is in a state of decline. More than half of the properties are vacant lots, or vacant buildings. What remains is a patchwork of slowly deteriorating buildings and vacant lots that span entire blocks.
My design strategy will seek to reenergize the corridor physically and socially. It will also attempt to become a gateway for other revitalization projects in the vicinity.

Neil- please post your neighborhood programming studies from Week 04. I would like to see what conclusions have from your analysis. Thanks.
